ABOUT US
WHY DEW?
ETYMOLOGY OF DEW
LIFE IS FROM WATER
WATER SUSTAINS LIFE
DEW IS SUBTLE, BUT POWERFUL
It reaches everywhere, even the driest places untouched by rain.
Just as dew forms a quiet but life-sustaining network across the earth, DEW Global creates a network of like-minded partners — independent yet connected — building empowerment and welfare that reaches communities others cannot.
The Ethymology of DEW captures our mission:
D = Delivering
E = Empowering
W = Welfare, Women
Together, DEW = Empowering Women,
Delivering Welfare
DEW² (DEWW), also signifies the 2x impact that can be achieved for every investment through Efficiency & Effectiveness (Doing Things Right & Doing the Right Things)
This concept is based on the SI2 financial innoation model that was demonstrated in Ethiopia.
DEW Global Inc. is a U.S.-registered 501(c)(3) public charity dedicated to advancing health, equity, and sustainable development. Guided by our mission — Empowering Women, Delivering Welfare — we design and scale innovative, locally anchored solutions that improve lives and strengthen systems.
Our leadership team brings decades of combined experience across healthcare, international development, finance, and technology. Together, we focus on delivering programs with lasting impact across our priority countries: Sub-Saharan Africa & South Asia
Our Impact
Over the last decade, our team has led impactful programs in Ethiopia and South Asia, supported by donor funding of approximately $100 million. These initiatives — made possible through partnerships with major donors and institutions such as KfW, FCDO, SIDA, Packard Foundation, the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, Global Fund, UNFPA, and Grand Challenges Canada — have improved access to health services, strengthened national systems, and enhanced the lives of women, youth, and families in close collaboration with national health ministries.
.
Key achievements include:
-
Designed, mobilized funding for, and implemented a local production facility for intrauterine devices (IUDs), reducing reliance on imports and ensuring country-based access to contraceptives.
-
Currently advancing a climate-positive manufacturing initiative in Ethiopia while strengthening supply chains to introduce new contraceptive formulations and therapies.
-
Delivered impactful programs in reproductive health, HIV, and tuberculosis tailored to local contexts and community needs.
This foundation of innovation, localization, and partnership defines who we are — and sets the stage for the deeper story behind our name.
